Eye on Malaysia

Copycat.

The Malaysian government has recently built a ferris wheel in 3 week with the size half of the "London Eye". Errmm... doesn't it sound almost the same? Damn, if you wanna copy other ppl's idea then don't copy the name ler... Shameless.

Anyway, this 400 tonne ferris wheel is built in just 3 weeks and is located by Tasik Titiwangsa overlooking the KL view. This wheel is portable, which means if you can put it up in 3 weeks, you can take it down in lesser time. This is built in conjunction with the Visit Malaysia Year 2007. It cost RM30 million and the government still haven't decide whether this will be a permanent monument or just temporary for 2007. (WTF!!! spending the rakyat's duit like that).

There's a lot of noises about this huge wheel that is put up in just 3 weeks on its safety. As you know, how the government would compromise for the sake of glamour. Even though The Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) has inspect and approved on the safety, still have some doubt. Here's are some grumbles on the safety; click here and here.

By the way, this eye takes 12 minutes for a ride. Considerably faster as compared to the London Eye which takes 45 minutes for 1 full round. And it cost RM15 for adult and RM8 for children.
Opening ceremony of this national monument will be Jan 6, 2007 at 8.30pm. Tasik Titiwangsa is the venue.
