2nd Anniversary

Today marks my 2nd Anniversary working in this company. Overlooking across the street is where me and a group of 19 other people sat in for our first day of induction exactly 2 years ago. It seems like yesterday. Everyone was stranger to each other. But we broke the barrier with hours with the help of a funny and lovely induction trainer, Rena. Could still remember she would always tell us that she drives McLaren, which is actually a silver color Kelisa.

After 3 weeks of induction, we move from that building to this current building which can accommodate 2500 employees at one time. But at that time, there were only 500+ employees altogether. Our induction group was separated into 2 teams but still in 1 same department. We stayed close tie with each other eventhough we were in different team. But that change soon after. When we have to meet our goals and target, people change. Although we did not become foe, the tie and friendship was not as before. Everyone is being precautious others outside their team. Guess that's the environment Rena has been reminding us during our honeymoon time in induction classes.

The team I fell into after induction is the team with 14 people. It was a "Dream Team", at least for me. As a team we won 5 out of 6 times monthly Best Team Award in the Rewards & Recognition Programme for the year of 2004. The team also achieved zero medical-leave for 10 months in the year of 2004 and continued the streak from Jan 2005 - Sept 2005 (I had left the team on July 2005). The team also continues to win the Best Team Award from Jan 2005 - Sept 2005. This is a team I'm so proud of. With the greatest team leader (Jeet) I have ever met (although that is my first job, I knew she was different), 3 person from the team got promoted in 2005, inclusive of me. As of now, only 4 out of all of us are still left in this once self-declared "Dream Team". It is a pity to see the once my "family" at work has separated. Guess just like the Chinese old sayings, "tien xia wu bu san zi yen xi", meaning that "no banquet is never-ending".

Erm... What has I done in these 2 years? I have worked hard to gain recognition while I was in a team environment. Gained respect from my own team members to be an acting-team leader after Jeet got promoted and moved on to other department. And on my 18th month of my service in this company, I got promoted to where I am today. I still miss the large team environment from time to time. Nonetheless, the smaller team I'm in now is quite impressive also, sometimes it's about crowd and liveliness.

Now as I'm almost halfway through my 5-years goal to achieve the next level in career, I am begining to wonder if I would be able to meet it by end of 2007. Sometimes I felt that with my ability, I would be able to meet it before 2007 hit me. But part of my pessimistic self tell me that it's only possible to achieve by end of 2007. And the ambitious self of mine tell me that I shall and want to meet it before 2007.

To all my Induction Class 29 colleagues:
May all of us remember the days we spent together in induction. Let's forget any fued or dissatisfaction we have for any one of us. Always remember the time used to spend as a team and as a family. Let me wish all of you Good Luck in your future career undertakings. Remember our friendships...

Still remember part of the song that we all sang when we "Go Live"
Oh MSC, Customer Service
and New Business, is what we'll be...

Thank you for being great colleagues, friends and family. Happy 2nd Anniversary!

Not so festive afterall

In the office alone right now. Damn!!! I'm actually alone in the whole floor. I can hear the mosquitoes flying around, ants talking, bees buzzing, air-condition chiming and worst of all, the slow moving time from my watch ticking. This is how lonesome my office environment is right now.

Hermm... Used to worked in a team which have to work even during Malaysian public holidays, but never felt this kind of loneliness. Guess X'mas and New Year's Day is still the most celebrated holidays. Why I say so, in a "globalised" company like mine which work according to holidays of countries such as Singapore, UK, USA, Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, etc. everybody don't come to work on the same day. From the normal busy block of building with 2500+ employees, occupied at an average of 1000 (estimated only) employees at any time of the day become an abandoned building filled with less than 100 human beings + 1 Centre Manager + thousands of flies and mosquitoes flying around. Zzzz....

Worst of all, when you come to work expecting your counterparts or business partners from other part of the world to be there for you to contact, "NO ONE IS THERE". All the e-mails I sent out got no reply and it seems like it somehow lost in the cyberspace. At the end of the day, nothing seems to be accomplished. What's the point of coming to work? Like my boss always like to say "Anticipate". I'm getting rotted anticipating now. Hahaha... If I were to die here right now, my colleagues will only discover me tomorrow morning, of which she might thought that I came early to work and doze off on my desk, which will take her another few hours to discover I'm dead. Juz a thought... Choy choy choy....

La la la la la........ la la la la....... la la la......... la la........ la........ ZZzzzz.....

Festive mood

Oh my God!!! X'mas is coming... Yeah!!! Brought a CD with full of Christmas MP3's to work. Su Chin and I are now in the Christmas mood listening to all these music. Obviously, with the hype for the holiday season right now, I just can't put my head down on my work. Especially when boss is on her holiday as well. But still, need to get a hold of myself... A few more head bang on the keyboard might work... ;P

And before my boss left the office for her vacation back in the States, she prompt all of us with question to keep us pondering through our New Year. I will attach it at the end of this blog entry to let all of you think about yours too, if you have a team at your own workplace.
1) I want you all to think about specifically how you can help to strengthen this team?
2) What can you do to be a better team player?
3) How does what you have identified impact your own future growth?Take this an please set personal goals for yourself for the coming year. Write them down and be specific.

Everybody out there, wish you Merry X'mas and Happy New Year. May you enjoy your Christmas with your love ones and have a happy happy New Year's eve party. Booze yourself to the max and for guys, please remember to wear "precautions".

We wish you a Merry X'mas,
We wish you a Merry X'mas,
And a Happy New Year!!!

Permanent Dressdown in Office

You may call this a bliss. Or you may call it cool!!! I could still remember the first few job interviews that I went for my for after college. I would often ask the interviewers, "What's the dress code here?". It came to a point when one of the interviewer answer me by saying, "You are a graduate, a professional and hence it is essential for you to respect yourself by dressing professionally". I was stunned. I have got the idea to dress casually as a programmer when I heard from friends of some software house that allow their employees to dress in jeans and polo-t in the effort to allow them to work comfortably and creatively. At that point of time, the idea was really cool.

When I got into my current company (still my first job), the employees here are required to wear formally as well. Since it was hard to adapt to a suddenly changes of wearing formal, me and my guy colleagues would always wear long-sleeves shirts and fold the sleeves till elbow length with a neck-tie. To us, it was kind of cooling and would not look so nerdy.

As we grew, we have began to understand that if we do not fold our sleeves and let it be, our dressing would makes us look real professional. Even when you walk, you can feel the "angin". Starting from today, all the employees here are not required to dress formally anymore. It's really awkward to wear T-shirt to work everyday. People might just think I'm still a college student (which always happen when I wear T-shirt & jeans). I DON'T HAVE A CHANCE TO LOOK MATURED AND PROFESSIONAL ANYMORE!!!! Hahahaha...
Sounds pathetic, when others would say STUPID!!!

Breastfeeding reduce diabetes risk

An interesting article I read today. Researchers has found corelation of breastfeeding and diabetes. Read the article in http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2005-11-22-breastfeeding_x.htm.

Hey, breastfeeding not only bring goodness to the babies, but also the mothers. Imagine not only you reduce your risk of having diabetes, you can slim down too. Now only I know that, women burn around 500 calories a day just by breastfeeding, equivalent to running 4 or 5 miles.

Proud to be a Chinese??? Think again

"LAOGAI" - Rehabilitation?
Laogai - (láo găi), which means "reform through labour"(www.wikipedia.org)

While browsing through some blog, I stumbled with this interesting website, http://www.laogai.org/. It's a website dedicated to on Human Rights in China. Initially started as a website to bring justice to the prisoners in "LaoGai" (direct translation, Jail Change) in China whom were tortured instead of rehabilitated. And today, this site is still fighting for the rights of the Chinese who were forced to abortion and lethal injections into the foetus for the sake of "One-Child Policy".

Prisoners in these Laogais were tortured, humiliated, starved and executed. I think this is where the term of "Organ Harvesting" originated. Prisoners are executed and organs are extracted from them to be sold to different countries in the world for organ transplant. Browsing through the non-profit organisation's website, you can read a lot about the inhumane Chinese so-called officials and government who still exist even today that rule the country with barbaric and communistic approach.

In this site, you can read about a few prisoners of Laogai who managed to escape the ordeal and tortures after 20 years and more of imprisonment. The author of the site, Harry Wu describe his experience in Laogai through this webpage. Glad that he is now standing at the front line and help those in needs.

I have not finish reading the whole section of "Survivor Series" in this site yet. But after reading a few, I felt the anger, sadness and necessity to let people knows what they can't see doesn't mean it does not happen. Please feel free to click here to read through all the Survivor's story of such inhuman acts.

Grumbles, AGAIN

Got tonnes of work on my shoulder, but now... contradictingly... nothing to do. Can't start off with the work until my boss vet through and comments on the necessary amendments required. Bored!!! But kind of have the fear of unable to finish the stuff by 5 Dec. A huge launch of the programme will take place on 5th December. But everything seems to be passing the dateline. She said she would contact all the Centre Manager 2 weeks ago. And now... None has been contacted. The letter that should have gone out last week, she haven't even amend and send it out today, of which she suppose to before Uncle Rob leave for his holiday end of day (British time).

How can I not worry? I've thought that I'm slumber, she's sometimes worse... Actually she's too busy with too many things. Hope that I don't have to be like her when I'm in her position one day. Hahaha... Very ambitious ain't I? Muahaha... It's always interesting to have something to look forward for. That's life.

Anyway, it's the weekend. Going to "Kotak Merah" tonight. Friends from Penang came for shopping. The last time when I went to Penang, they did quite well as host for me. Hence, I will have to return the favor, eventhough I'm not consider a host when I'm in KL. Funny!!!SONY

BMG Rootkit
Stumbled with the Sony-BMG news about 2 weeks ago, started out as a CD that prevents people from making more than 1 copy, to a breach of privacy when the CD installs itself with a software (rootkit) into the pc you put it in. Then from a software that breach privacy and hides itself from the eyes, it became a security flaw that could easily helps adware and spyware to hide themselves in your pc. Now, after all the pc security firm confirm that the rootkit could cause harm, they only apologise and willing to pull back all the cds in the shelves and consumers. Read more about it here!
See, this is boredom... when you are able to follow-up with such a story everyday for 2 weeks. Zzzz...

1 year, 10 months & 17 days

Another 1 month and 12 days will be my official 2nd year anniversary in this company. I had not thought of staying this long in this company when I first step into it. But as the old sayings goes, life is so unpredictable. Hence my philosophy in life, cherish when it's here, let it go and remember it when it's gone. Just like a lot of friends-like colleague that I had met here before each of us left for our own goal.

Alright, now the happy thing. Got my Ipod Nano on Monday... It's a 2Gb one. It comes in a real slick box. I can't believe it when I saw the box. Oh my God!!! I paid RM800+ for something that comes in such a small box... But when I open it up, the slick box and packaging really makes me feel that only the best comes in such a box. Hahaha... Kinda silly... I think so too... But definitely everyone does have such kind of feeling when they bought something new for themselves. That is why there's a "Boxing Day" in the UK one day after Christmas... It is because people likes to unbox stuffs.

The past weekend was a free and easy and the weekdays were busy but fulfilling ones. Spend some dinner time knowing new people who are really smart and someone who can WOW!! you away.

Anyway, the coming weekend's plan to go Port Dickson has been cancelled. Damn... Has been putting off a lot of other plans for this trip, and those organiser blew it off without proper planning... Grr.... Think it's not hard to see someone with a good project and planning skill from those without. So... It's going to be a rest & couch-potato weekend, which is exactly what I need to get off from thinking of the pressuring work and life.
Alright, back to work now... brain is blowing off soon... KaBoom!!!

Untitled

Wasn't actually in the mood to write any blog today. However, since the morning life in the office is so boring, just to pass time. Came in the morning, saw my boss who went for her Sri Lanka business trip for the passed whole week. Thought it would be hell of a day with endless work.

The first thing that she came and talk to us is giving us the souvinier from her trip. She gave her PA a stack of recycled paper. And guess what I've got? A black t-shirt, with a row of white colour elephants printed on it. Herm....

Anyway, am so free because she asked me to wait for her to finish her stuff and we can connect on whatever is urgent in our plates. Then, about an hour later, she step off her office and gone. And when she stepped back, she's with her best friend in the office chatting. Damn!!! My whole morning is gone wasted without having her vetting through my work. Then she will start asking for the stuff at the end of the day and jumping around asking why is it taking so long.... Hello???? Duhhh.... These senior management people who always stress on time management... What about theirs? Anyway, I will stick around here for some time... Just grumbling for the sake of letting it out.

Oh yeah, went for "Ayam Kecil"/Chicken Little last week. It was really funny and cute. Everyone should go and watch it. All the characters in it is sooo... adorable. I love the little alien named "Kirby" (hope I got the spelling right). Talking about this movie, makes me thought of a friend whom all her friends will say she looks like Ayam Kecil. Check out the picture comparison down here.

Hehehe... Pei Yian (Nicole) is going to kill me for this. But aren't both of them cute?
Anyway, saw "The Making of Just Like Heaven". It seems kind of romantic and touchy. I'm thinking of giving it a shot. And oh yeah, heard that Harry Potter is out on Thursday too... I'm going pauper catching movies. Hahaha... Life's never bored when movies are around.

Update:"Ayam Kecil" is on the Top of US Box Office for 2nd Consecutive, see the report!

Heart warming story

http://www.bernama.com/bernama/v3/news.php?id=163927

Bring Hearts Closer, Bring Peace Closer
JERUSALEM, Nov 8 (OANA/Xinhua) -- Twelve-year-old Israeli girl Samah Gadban lay on bed at Schneider Children's Medical Center in the Israeli town of Petah Tikvah Monday afternoon, her mother sitting by her bed holding her hand.

Samah got a new heart Monday, a heart once belonged to a Palestinian boy.

Of the same age of Samah, Ahmed al-Khatib was fatally shot during clashes in the west Bank city of Jenin last Thursday, when Israeli troops mistook the toy gun he carried for a real rifle.

Ahmed was transferred from a Palestinian hospital to Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, Israel. He died of his wound only after 48 hours, leaving his parents with unbearable agony.

Soon after they heard the news of Ahmed's death, the parents made a startling decision: to donate his organs to sick people, "no matter Israelis or Arabs".

A few hours later, Ahmed's heart, liver, kidneys and lungs were sent to many hospitals with the help of the national transplant center.

Besides the heart, the boy's liver was given to a six-month-old baby and a 56-year-old woman; his lungs were given to a 14-year-old girl; and his kidneys were given to a five-year-old boy and a four-year-old girl.

The transplant surgeries proceeded as quickly as possible and the life of Ahmed continued in six Israelis.

The father of the heart receiver, Riad Gadban, told Israel Radio that when the hospital phoned him Saturday evening, he did not know anything about Ahmed.

"I only knew that the doctors said they had a heart." Riad said the family had waited for the heart for five years.

Riad heard Ahmed's story while his daughter was in surgery. "I don't know what to say. It is such a gesture of love...I would like (Ahmed's parents) to think that my daughter is their daughter. "

When asked why donated the organs, Jamal al-Khatib, father of the boy, said "I had an older brother who suffered from kidney failure and there were no transplants available. When the doctor told me that my boy was clinically dead, I remembered my brother."

"I don't mind seeing the organs in an Israeli or a Palestinian. In our religion, God allows us to give organs to another person and it doesn't matter who the person is," he told Israeli channel Two TV.

Dr Tzvi Ben-Ishai, the deputy director of Rambam hospital, said the uncle of Ahmed, who lives in an Israeli Arab village, is a member of a non-governmental organisation that seeks to improve the understanding and dialogue between Israelis and Arabs.

It was him who helped desperate parents in making such a difficult and noble decision.

Ben-Ishai added that the boy's parents decided to donate his organs "to bring hearts closer and bring peace closer."Upon leaving the hospital, Jamal al-Khatib expressed his only wish: to meet the recipients of his son's organs to ensure that they were healthy. "The most important thing is that when I see the person who received the organ, I see him alive," said the father.

Selflessness. I'm deeply touched by this story. No matter what kind of race, ethnic, religion, country or color different we are from, we are still human. Cherish what and who you love. Cherish those who loves you.

I believe everyone is born into this world with a kind heart. Love is around!!!

Here's a posting in jeffooi.com, with some comment from people around. Interesting comments.

Firing at 1-piston

What a lazy day for me. Got some really important stuff to finish by at least end of this week, but still kinda lazy. Like my boss always like to say "firing at 1-piston only".

It was a great weekend. Watched "Ayam Kecil" (Chicken Little). It was really funny. All the characters in the cartoon is so adorable and funny. I love the fish and the furly little alien baby, Kirby. I'm these 2 merchandise for Disney will sell really well. Coz I would love to buy 1 if I see them.

Oh yah, today's traffic is still light. It is like last Monday. I wonder why. I think it might be because people are still on holiday. But my colleague said it might be because of the school holiday and people do not have to pick up their children to and from school.

Not so wonderful Monday

When I was driving to work this morning, I thought to myself, it is going to be a wonderful Monday. The sky is cloudy with some showering rain. The traffic is so ease that I could get to office within 45mins (of which normally will take an hour). And also the thought that I can finally get to sit back at my great "fengshui" seat that I agreed to exchange in a monthly basis with Su Chin (in the end it takes 2 months for her to finally agree to exchange it back with me).

As I thought everything is going to be well-oiled and smooth today, Su Chin came into the office looking kind of frustrated. Not sure what's happening. Hope it's not because we are changed seats. Then the office's atmosphere became tensed and it turns out that it's not that wonderful afterall for today. She must have her stuff to worry about, so for the time being, just have to keep the mouth shut =X and let her cool off.

Anyway, while stuck in some slow traffic on my way to work today, I saw some really unethical behaviour which prompt me to think, why such barbaric action still exist today? What happened? A truck (4x4 truck) which is trying to slide in front of me in a jam, basically just glide his head out of the window and SPIT in front of my car (it did not land on my car though). Oh My God!!! That is so gross. Spit that is as much as it seems like he's vomiting (a bit exaggerated though ;P, but it's really a lot) . Yucksss....

Hope the day will turn better...

Arghh...

Who in this world can truly understand me? Does everything need to be spelt out by words? Not everything will be able to be put into words... Arghhh...... Am I bad? Am I good? Am I stupid? Am I a fool? Am I idiotic? Am I lost?

The Lost of Malaysia's First Lady

This morning the Prime Minister's wife had been buried. There has been reporting of her death yesterday in all major e-newspapers (my only source of news in the office) in the internet including CNN. It actually doesn't affect me or bring much different to me at all. Why? Because I don't know her much, she has not done anything sigficant that had affect my life (at least not from what I can see).

Eventhough so, after reading a various news and blogs of how much Malaysians respect her, gave me a warmness at the heart and felt sad of the lost of our first lady (as described as a great mother and a great supporting wife to our nation's leader). The blog that I have read is Suanie's (a well-known blogger in Malaysia from my hometown of Batu Pahat) and "The Star" e-newspaper article.

p/s: All the radio station is playing lullaby yesterday putting me to sleep while driving to work, dangerous, I think they are trying to cause a nation-wide traffic accident.

Weekend in Penang

Spent my weekend away in Penang. It was o... k... I went there for my cousin's (whom I've not met since highschool) wedding dinner. Went on Friday, spent the night in a pub with my sister and my cousin (her last bachelorette night) with a couple bottle of Heineken.

Saturday night, was a great one. Met up with 2 of my university coursemates/housemates. They are so hospitable. Brought me for really great local food, then proceed to a jazz bar with extremely cosy sofas and soothing music. The bar, "Bagan" is opened in a century-old bunglow furnished with a very comfortable ambience. And when the clock struck 12.00am, we proceed to one of the club in the area named "Glo". The place was good, R&B music... all tables filled with at least a bottle of Bombay Sapphire with lime juice and sodas. They even have an event of which a few ladies was invited onto the podium to compete who can dance in the most sexiest way. But the prize was just a small bottle of Bombay Sapphire (almost like a miniature). Hey, thanks Aun Lee and Phei See for your hospitality. :)

Then it was Sunday, the wedding banquet day!!! And Monday, I'm back to KL.

Here's something I would like to share of which I came across from one of my friend's bulletin board in friendster... it is quite meaningful and true... Take some time and read it through...

To Let Go
To let go doesn't mean to stop caring, it means i can't do it for someone else.
To let go is not to cut myself off, it's the realization that I don't control another.
To let go is not to enable, but to allow learning from natural consequences.
To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means the outcome is not in my hands.
To let go is not to try change or blame another, I can only change myself.
To let go is not to care for, but to care about.
To let go is not to fix, but to be supportive.
To let go is not to judge, but to allow another to be a human being.
To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes, but to allow others to affect their own outcomes.
To let go is not to be protective, it is to permit another to face reality.
To let go is not to deny but to accept.
To let go is not to nag, scold, or argue, but to search out my own shortcomings and to correct them.
To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires but to take each day as it comes and to cherish the moment.
To let go is not to criticize and regulate anyone but to try to become what I dream I can be.
To let go is not to regret the past but to grow and live for the future.
To let go is to fear less and love more...

God has fell in love

I woke up seeing the sky was so fine this morning! It was drizzling while I was driving to work. The rain was so fine that it felt so comfortable and gave me a feeling that felt as though the God was touched by the human kind and was crying with joy and happiness. Out of no where, a song popped into my mind...

Fine Day
The spring flower of the story

Floats from that year when it was born
Swinging on a swing in childhood
Following memories always swaying till now

ruay sou sou si dou sila sou
la si si si si la si la sou

Playing the prelude, watching the sky, I remember the petal trying to flop
That day when I skipped class for you
That day when flowers fall
That classroomHow come I couldn’t see
The disappeared rainy sky?
I really want to be drenched again
Never thought that I still keep the courage that I have lost
Really want to ask again
Will you wait or leave?
This day of the typhoon
I tried to hold onto your hand
But yet
Rain gradually
Heavy to the point that I cannot see you
How much longer
Before I can be at your side?
Waiting for that day when it clears up
Maybe I will be a bit better
In the past, in the past
There was someone who loved you for a long time
But yet
Wind gradually
Blows the distance really far apart
Not very easily
Once again be able to love a day more
But the end of the story it seems like you still said bye-bye

Stress = Headache

It's been quite a while since I wrote something in the blog. Had tried a few times to write something, but couldn't quite think of what to write. Having a headache now. Guess it's due to the neverending figures that I have to see in book-thick tables full of numbers. Then have to figure out how to trend these numbers and figures into beautiful graph, table and chart. I hate the thinking and creativity part, but I love the satisfaction part when the report looks whole. Contradicting I know...

Life has been great so far. Kind of lost the workaholic momentum (which is a good news), but still trying to balance off work and life.

When things are out of control

Ever felt that you want to be in control for everything in your life? Ever felt frustrated when these things are out of control? The feeling is terrible. Guess that's life. We live in a society, sometimes something just require the effort of all parties involve to be carried out and moved on. The following song is the one thing that is calming my thoughts down right now. From the soundtrack of "Shall We Dance":

Title : Book of Love
Artist : Peter Gabriel
The book of love is long and boring
No one can lift the damn thing
It's full of charts and facts and figures and instructions for dancing
But I
I love it when you read to me
And youYou can read me anything
The book of love has music in it
In fact that's where music comes from
Some of it is just transcendental
Some of it is just really dumb
But I
I love it when you sing to me
And you
You can sing me anything
The book of love is long and boring
And written very long ago
It's full of flowers and heart-shaped boxes
And things we're all too young to know
But I
I love it when you give me things
And you
You ought to give me wedding rings
And I
I love it when you give me things
And you
You ought to give me wedding rings
And I
I love it when you give me things
And you
You ought to give me wedding rings
You ought to give me wedding rings

Annual Dinner

Suck!!! The food sucks... Oh my God!!! What a shame!!! Anyhow, the performance and the lucky draw prizes was great! Didn't know that Putrajaya Convention Centre is so massive and beautiful at night. I think Putrajaya is a place with a lot of wonderful landmark and monument, but no publicity or marketing to make them known. I have just discovered one monument from this site;http://www.lensamalaysia.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=21&Itemid=2

The weekend was a fast one. Though, I enjoy the company very much. Oh yeah!!! Boss is away!!! She's back to the US. Muahahaha... But left tonnes of stuff for us to do before she left. Sob sob...

Grumbles

Guess one of the most frustrating thing about working overtime is not because you do not have enought time finish your own work, but is to waste the time on waiting for your boss to go through your stuff before you can proceed to the next time. Arghh... Reminds me of the efficiency that all bosses talk about but they themselves can't seems to practise it.

On Monday the mood and atmosphere in the office is still great with the boss' mood on "Cloud 9". But today, it just feel like a roller-coster ride (as described by my colleague, Su Chin) of which is dropping from the high peak, feeling the pressure of the G-Force. Exciting? Ermm... Frustrating!

When others are happy

I'm happy!!! Really glad that my 2 of my ex-colleagues succeded in their applications for Assistant Manager-Operations position. I guess I feel proud, as we came from the same induction and same process. I feel proud because I think in 1 way or another my advise or opinion before their interview does help them in some way.

I'm also happy to hear the family matter of a friend has finally come to a conclusion and everything ends well. It has been a really tough time for her since so much has happened in such a short time. But she managed to pull it through all by herself as a filial daughter and as a reponsible eldest sister, not to mentioned a doting mother. Hats off!!!

It has been a great Monday so far... with other happy things too.... :P

Room taking shape

It is a great morning!!! After more than 1 whole week of moving and arranging of stuff, my room is finally starting to take shape. Got most of my stuff arranged in a tidy way (at least for me). An ambience small little Ikea lighting at the right corner of the room, which is really soothing when being accompanied by some really slow and vocal music.

"Life is beautiful."

A long weekend

My weekend? Saturday was great, moving my stuff bit by bit from the old place to the new place. It feels like an adventure. Why? Because I have been staying at that old place of mine for 6 years and I'm the first tenant in that condo ever since that block of condo was built. Afternoon was "STOMP". OH MY GOD!!! Never regretted paying the RM225 for it! It was fantastic, funny, relaxing and enjoying. Half way thru the show, my colleague, Su Chin thought I was sms-ing in the middle of a very interesting show as described in her blog. But the truth is that I was actually recording the melodramatic and rhythmic performance (only the lovely sound, no camera was allowed). Then it was "kara-oke at night. My gang of pig and dog friends was really like... how should I describe... ermm... crazy, hilarious and cowa-bung-ga!!! (that's a term that suddenly popped into my mind, teenage mutant ninja turtle).

Sunday? Was suppose to go to MATTA fair to check out the price for a Bali trip in November, but in the end I "fong fei kei" (ffk) my friends due to financial difficulties. Anyway, the trip was cancelled due to the overly costly season in November and December. The funniest things about my Sunday was I have to wake up early in the morning to go to my new house to brush my teeth and take a bath because I have moved all my toiletries without my bed on Saturday, hence I have to sleep at the old house and bath in the new one. Bizzare!!!

And as a follow up of the previous blog entry, my friend cum ex-housemate gave me a call yesterday (I was on annual leave), here's the dialogue:
Friend: Hey, you've have moved all your stuff out of the room, but when are you going to return the car sticker and the keys?

Me: Don't worry, I will pass you the car sticker and the key to you soon when you can give me back my deposit.

Friend: What? The new tenant would want to move in next week and you can't expect me to only start arranging my stuff then?

Me: Alrite.. alrite... I will try to give you all the stuff next week.

Of which I WON'T, because I paid the stupid rental for the room until the end of September. And just as the previous blog entry has described the way he has been, I think I should let him taste his own medicine, "I DON'T KNOW". Muahahahaha!!!! Evil am I?

Anyhow, my new place is really a pleasant one. Although there's so much to work on with limited time since I have to work. It's does feels like an adventure.

Disappointment

Me: Hey, what time are you going to work tommorrow. My car stall, the battery is dead, I need you to help me to jump start the car before you go to work.

Friend: (Eyes on the computer screen)I'm going to work at 7am (of which he actually leave at 8am everyday) and I don't think my Kancil's battery is strong enuff to "jump-start" your car.

Me: Hey, no worries. I had tried it out with my friend's Kenari of which has the same battery of a Kancil. All you have to do is bring your car near mine, open up the engine cover and I will do the rest. So, can you do me this favour?

Friend: I don't know (eyes still on the computer screen)....

A tribute to 6 years of friendship and 4 years of staying in the same house person.

Lost...

Lost... Guess blog does not give as much freedom of writing as it seems. Everything I write will be socially responsible to all the friends who might be reading my blog. Of which, I can't write anything unpleasant in here that will hurt somebody who knows me and my blog. Bizarre!!! I'm going to move this blog elsewhere soon. Looking at the limited technical flexibility like (amendments in html) and downtime, I'm getting really annoyed by the Friendster blog services. But the contradicting part about blogging is also the "known" part. As much as you do not want people that you know to read them, you want them to read (when the blog it's not regarding them). That's a dilemma that exist among all bloggers.

Alright, after babbling so much, why actually am I lost? Since it's a blog that's going to be seen by someone I know, better not defame or finger pointing at my friends. All I can say is, I'm going to wash my hands off and go on with my life. Let nature takes its course. People might not want or will think of my feelings, but I still have to think of others feelings. Sounds so saint? Nope, just my philosophy of life, rather to look at others die and feel guilty, I would die myself and avoid the torturing of guilt seeing them die. Smart huh? Hahaha...

Am I bad tempered? Hey hey, friends out there. Can someone answer this question for me? A friend of mine said that she can feel that I'm not good at my temper. Since I might offended someone without myself noticing it, I would appreciate if there're friends who would tell me that. Am I or am I not? Would aprreciate it, thanks.

p/s: I lost my brain while writing this blog. And with regards to being Saint, actually I am. Muahaha...

I'm late

I was so indulged in my book yesterday night that I did not notice that time flies and it was already 3.00am when I finally have to stop myself from reading. After switching of the light, I can't sleep. Damn, God knows until what time I have to roll from one side of my bed to the other until I fell asleep. And today, I'm so late to work!!! I only managed to reach office at 11.00am. The most fortunate thing is, MY BOSS IS ON HER WAY TO PHUKET!!! Muahahaha!!!

My weekend was a enjoying one. Spent my Saturday afternoon by sending my car to wash, while eating my lunch and in the meantime, read my book. Then at night went for some red wine at Alexis accompanied by some so-so jazz music that night. Sunday, it was Ikea day. Spend a lot of (don't you think it's money) time browsing through and have a rough idea of what to get for our (me and my future housemate, better known as my buddy) new place. Ended our day with a "Yong Tau Fu" dinner at Wangsa Melawati. Delicious!!! :p

Pretentious?

Just had a great night out with my closest friends for years. It has been on my mind for years already. I discovered that I could not really be as much of myself when I'm with them. The usual self of me would really go all out to tease people and joke around when I'm with other friends. But when it comes to this group of friends, I found myself the quietest one among all. There's no one to blame, guess that I felt more inferior when I'm with this group of friends. I do enjoy spending time with these friends. But why I felt so? I don't know.

Might be because I know them too well and knowing more words = more bombardments.
Might be because they know me too well.Might be because they don't know/understand me that well.
Might be it was me who potray the person who I was not and I have to live with it now.
Might be I felt I'm useless compare to them (to subjective to compare, so definitely not).
Might be I'm too passive, so would always allow them to take charge of the situation.
Might be I'm too defensive when I'm hanging out with them (doesn't want to lose the friendship).
Might be I don't know how to respond to them with the proper answer or expression.
I'm still searching for the answer....

p/s: there's no finger pointing at anyone. Hope no controversy. All is just about my life.

Moving out

It's Friday, the mood just doesn't come to boost things up. I feel so sluggish. My colleague got the Stomp tickets, which comes in a beautiful slit in cover. Can't wait for the event to come on 17 September. Let's STOMP the stage!!!

I'm moving out next month. Yeah!!! and Damn!!! Had a quarrel with my housemate a month before I move out. How pathetic can that be? For the first time after so many many years, I erupted and yelled at people. Why do I have to yell? What would you do when people cut you off when you are talking by shouting? Arghh... Anyway, got over it now. Moving away anyway.

Yeah!!!! Friday... Weekends... Party...

I'm BACK!!!

Long vacation is over, busy working day is back!!! Of which I'm kind of happy about. Keeping my life occupied rather than loafing around.

However, I do have quite a hell of a weekend there. Saturday night, Jazz Night at Alexis in Great Eastern Mall at Jalan Ampang. The band playing was "Grove Unction". Heard from a friend that this band has been around for some time now and probably one of the oldest Jazz band in Malaysia. Talking about improvisation, this is the first I see in Malaysia. A walk through the history of Jazz, one may notice part of Jazz is improvisations. It was a great outing with great companies of old-school mates and some of the friend's friends accompanying by an Australia Cabernet 2003 red wine. With the perfect ambience of dimmed Ikea's lightings, the night of great music was soothing and relaxing.

As for Sunday, it's a busy day. First has to go for a Muslim colleague's wedding in the afternoon and follow by a 3-hour yamcha session with my ex-colleagues to pass time for the next wedding ceremony we have to attend at night in Seremban. It's my first time going for a Indian wedding that night. Fortunately we have an Indian colleague who came along who can quite well estimate the time we should be there rather than being there 2 hours early just to listen to the priests chanting mantra to the bride. Great experience.

Back to my Hazy nest

Got back to KL. Got back to fast pace lifestyle. Most importantly, fast internet connection. I spent more than 4 hours on the internet to keep up with what I have left while I was in Batu Pahat.
I went for an Indonesian movie yesterday, due to the boredom in a small town. Fortunately, cineplex still exist in this small town of mine. The movie I watched? Ungu-Violet. I wouldn't say it's a blockbuster movie, but I think it's still a great movie. This is the kind of movie that reminds you of the people you love, family especially. Some might be laughing on me for watching such a movie, but I think it's all about appreciating the work of the producer and script-writer and not the countries background. The soundtrack of the movie, "Menanti Sebuah Jawaban" by Padi is really nice (at least it is for me). If anyone is interested to download this song, click here. Hehehe... Part of the time I spent online today is to look for this mp3. If you can't get to download through the site provided, drop me your email in the comment area and I will send it out asap.

I feel kind of bad today, due to the problem I bring upon to my colleague when I take this leave. If you still remember, the most irritating lady of Guangzhou, Grace is back into action again! She is asking so much question that is not important and caused my colleague who is standing in for me in my project while I'm away a big headache. I don't even have to be in the office to be able to sense the frustration my colleague has to go through. I'm sorry Su Chin. =P Can anyone imagine, when I have my once in a lifetime holiday, I can't wait to go back to work thinking of the extra time my colleagues have to spend in the office when I'm not around. I think I'm a real workaholic. I guess this is contributed by the great colleagues and boss I have and also the challenge that keeps me on my toes.

Responsible TV

I'm like back to my childhood and teenage years with all the ever exciting tv dramas and series. All made in Singapore. This is where I learnt my great mandarin from, which some of friends and colleagues praised that it's unbelievable that I don't even know how to read and write Chinese.

All the marketing and preview of the everyday's drama makes the viewers even more eager to follow up with the drama. I must admit, Malaysian TV has been improving ever since NTV7 came into action. This natural competition obviously forced TV3 to improve their way of broadcasting and then come their secret weapon 8TV (which I must say, is impressive).

However, all these are not enough. Their way of marketing their dramas and series is way outdated. Try rewind and think, "Desperate Housewives" preview/trailer has always been the same one even since the series itself has yet to start until now. As for Singapore TV, once you finish "Desperate Housewives", the preview of next week's episode is already up. It makes you drool =)~~~ and can't wait for the next episode to come. The preview will be showed every now and then until the next episode comes and the latest one is updated and viewed again until the next week. How about that huh?

Other than that, is the responsible broadcaster of Singapore, MediaCorp. Every subtitle is accurate in spelling and grammar. Not to say the language they use in the programmes. You all might be wondering, how about "Phua Chu Kang". When it first came out in Singapore, the Singlish used was well accepted as it was very local. But before the first season end, the government of Singapore thought that the grammar used in the sitcom is misleading and might be a bad example for the younger generation. Hence MediaCorp rewrote their script without the Singlish, but definitely still with the Singaporean English accent. Which I think it's still educative.

When I say the TV Advertisement today, I too found it more meaningful than what you can get in Malaysian tv. Most of the ads brings out the feeling that you appreciate the ads as for the content, they put in thoughts for all people. They don't only advertise to sell their stuffs, but their ads always bring out the moral and heart-warming part which reminds us of how much we have forgetten (families, love ones, once the closest friends) when we get too busy with our day to day life (work, peers, plays).

For the time being, I will still have to put up with the Malaysian tv. What to do?

Not quite as expected

My vacation at home isn't quite as I would expect. Small town, boring life. Though it's boring, I thought I would find the peace that I could not get in KL. It's totally the opposite. I drove around the whole town just to find a Starbucks-like cafe to read my book. Guess what? None can be found. The cafe I ended up in is the "Sunflower" Cafe. People there talk as if there is no tommorrow. They would shout their lung out when they are talking. I guess I can't blame them. It's the culture of the town.

Kind of lost, seems like my trip home is not as relaxing as I thought it would be. Though, I think I still have to make the best out of it. But even the internet is freaking me out here. The dial-up is always giving me problem. Guess I'm too used to broadband in KL.

My trip isn't quite enjoyable as it is. However, it's still my duty as a son to come back and accompany my parents at home. Though, my parents don't seems to be quite enjoy me presence here. Not that they are not happy that I'm home. It's just that I felt that my presence did not bring anything special as of the normal day (when I am not at home). This does makes me sound unfilial, but I'm just stating the truth. Anyhow, of course I will not express such feelings to my parents. They will feel bad about it. So, guess I will have to be a filial son in front of them for another few days.

Oh, oh, oh... Balik kampung...

The wind is here... The haze is gone in a glance. Now through my experience (kononnya), the API in Cyberjaya is about 80. It's all cleared up now. Finally my most beloved "SUN" is shining again. WHERE THE HELL DID YOU GO WHEN I NEEDED YOU MOST? AND WHY DON'T YOU DISAPPEAR WHEN I DON'T NEED YOU? Dilema...

I'm going back to my old den after work today. It's been more than 3 months since I last step onto that holy land (my birth place). Yeah... I guess I will not be updating my blog till then. =)

I just had a great lunch with my colleague, my boss and my ex-teamleader. It was a great lunch at Alamanda. We ended our lunch with a cup of Starbucks coffee. What else can you ask for? I think it's another one of a great afternoon break.
Oh.. oh.. oh... balik kampung.

Proud to be from Batu Pahat

Go and have a look at this site, Suanie.net, it's from a fellow BP-ian (my hometown). The blogger's name is Hui Suan, her schoolmates (from Convent) call her Suanie. Now her blog is as famous as Jeff Ooi's blog.

The post describe how we BP-ian live through our life indulging in the Singaporean society, tv, magazine and radio stations. That's my childhood and early teenage years. While Jeff Ooi's blog is more about everything and anything that happen to the Malaysian society, Suanie's blog is towards whatever happens to the teenagers' society (no politic). Enjoy!

The haze is killing me

Argh... The haze is really killing me. Even my well-protected, multi-security tag-in doors company can smell the burn of green. It's such a sad day, especially when my office is so near to the forest fire (Putrajaya) and guess what? The Natural Resources and Environment Ministry prohibited open burning in Klang Valley and identified seven areas with unhealthy air quality readings, Putrajaya is 1 of them, BUT Cyberjaya which is next to it is not listed! How peculiar can that be?

Anyhow, office today is kind of fun. We celebrated one of the Personal Assistant's birthday today. Her name is Agnes. She is one of Helena's best friend in the company when she was here. The PAs seems to have their own community in the company. But all of them are so friendly and capable. Never thought that a PA's job would be that complicated. But when I first joined this department, seeing how Helena keep the boss spicked and spanned, I know it's not an easy task. All these were proven by seeing the guest that came for Agnes' birthday (also a pot-luck) today. All the Heads of Department, VPs and AVPs. Wow! Kudos to the PAs.

Another celebration that is coming later is another suprise farewell party for 1 of the trainer from Sheffield (yeah!! this is where I studied) who is going back later today. It's a party day at the office.

However, everything is spoiled by the yellowish, hazy and smelly day. The surroundings looks so sad. It gives kind of a feeling of looking into an extremely old story book that turned yellowish. I think this will continue until it rains massively. Damn, why didn't I learn the ancient chinese ritual of prayers for rain? Hehehe!!!

Anyway, got to stay indoor as much as possible. Drink a lot of water, not soft-drink though!!!

Monday, August 08, 2005

Phew

After an unproductive week, I finally finish my the task I started on Monday. Time without the boss in the office is so free and easy. Enjoy good meal for lunch at Alamanda by the peaceful garden and fountain.

Was planning a UK trip next year with a friends over dinner yesterday. My mind has been floating on the sky of Scotland right now, imagining the green green grass, beautiful mountain pass and etc, etc, etc... Bali trip this November... Oh my God!!! BROKE!!!

Hazy Weekends

The weekends was extremely hazy and bad for the health. My nose is feeling irritated by the haze, can't stop sneezing. The visibility of KLCC Twin Tower is still bad as I can see from my house balcony.

Weekend? Friday night was great. As I had mentioned, went to the Sunrise Jazz and Rhthym Festival with my colleagues (Su Chin & Helena). They were great companies. The music was extremely good, featuring local artist like Shelly Leong & Jazz Odyssey and Greg Lyons Nonet.

Shelly Leong and her band was mesmerising the crowd with her vocal and fantastic keyboard player (Nisha) who happen to celebrate her 21st birthday on that day.

Greg Lyons Nonet, as describe a nine people band. Greg Lyons was a saxaphone player together with his melodic group of flute, trumpet and trombone players accompanied by rhythmic bassist, drummer and keyboard player.

Saturday, watched the movie Stealth. I keep wondering why do they name the movie "Stealth" when the story has nothing to do with it? Though, it's still a good (not GREAT) movie. Went for another movie on Sunday. This time it is The Island. At least the name of the movie makes sense and the movie is still good and meaningful in the sense of ethical and human morality.

Unproductive day

Today is like hell! I'm so unproductive. Even looking at the screen for an hour, my mind is still somewhere in the space. Can't figure out what to do. So decided to blog a little. =P

Went to see my new place and landlord yesterday. It was cool! The landlord seems really friendly and personal. The husband even painted the living room already. But my room needs painting. I'm thinking of blue paint, very light-blue. It will somehow create the sense of calm ocean, I suppose. Anyone have any idea of what kind of colour will look really comfy and calm? No dark color, it's not comfy and rather... it's SLEEPY!!! What kind of paint to buy? I want some hassle-free paint (I guess there's none).

Today my partner in crime at the office (Su Chin) is on holiday. Now I understand how boring she was when I was on holiday. It is because the other colleague is so quiet and always in to her own world, I'm resulted to talk to my computer screen. Sigh... Don't get me the wrong way, this colleague is a really nice person, it's just that she's too quiet. Even if I initiated a conversation, it only lasted less than a minute and a perfect silent just follow the next. Awkward!!!

What else to write? I guess nothing, just looking forward for the weekends. My mind is so exhausted. From what? I don't even have the energy to think of what causes my mind's exhaustions. Brain dead...

PAWS

The Saturday's Charity Car Wash organised by HSBC Electronic Data Processing and A&W was a successful one. My ex-teamleader, who is the organiser managed to get media coverage through TV3 8pm's news. The funds collected will be donated to PAWS Animal Welfare Society.

I was amazed by the personnel of PAWS. Those were real creative people. The first thing that caught my attention when I step on their booth was the marine blue cap with it's PAWS logo. As a dog lover, definitely I could not resist the temptation of the cap and paid RM20 for the slick design of the cap and partly for the sake of contributing a bit to the welfare. Even the t-shirt looks terrific, but too bad I've to kind of budget a bit this month, can't purchase too much. Hey the bottom line is, this animal welfare society does not get as much media and public attention as SPCA. Eventhough, the animal there should be treated equally with those in PAWS. As PAWS is not a goverment funded society, it don't get the attention that it require to help the poor animals. To all animal lovers out there, show some support. Go to the PAWS website and see what you can do to help within your ability. PAWS Official Website!!!

Ok, after all the charity talk, it's about my work now. My boss is suppose to be in holiday this week, but her workaholic self got her back to office this morning and maybe more mornings to come on the remaining week. She got so pissed in her personal stuff that we got some lectures from her for something, I would say is not our fault. Don't get me wrong here, she is still a nice boss to work for. But sometimes she is not able to control her temper and mix her own emotions with work. No one is perfect I would say. Little does she knows, by throwing her tantrum at us (the innocent people), she is affecting our mood as well. Worst of all, it will bring fear to work. That is why, even now she has left the office, everyone is on a tensed mood right now.

Sometimes I just don't understand, what would you get when you throw your temper on others who has nothing to do with you getting angry? To me, I think this cause more harm than good. Everything we do everyday, in a way or another will bring effect to people surrounding us. Why is there a need to make these people's life miserable when you have a choice to make their life better? I'm sorry, I guess I just hate impulsive people who would let go on innocent people, especially those who I respect a lot.

Great day

I'M SO LATE today! Reached office at 10.35am. Fortunately my boss was not angry, instead she's worried about me and asked my colleagues to give me a call to ensure I'm alright if I'm still not in by 11.00am. How sweet can it be?

See the scissors? One thing I'm so happy about today is to find that scissors on the pix <-- (which makes me can't stop laughing, you will know why). This is called a cheat sheet in my agenda for tomorrow's meeting. This acts as a guide for a bunch of 30-year-old Managers and AVPs to cut this part out in order to remind them of their deliverables due date. Like my boss has always said, think as though this group of people are kids. Hold their hands, show them how to walk. =D

Hey, going to Jazz Festival with my colleagues on Friday after work. We are going to have a great night outing. I'm so fortunate to have such sporting and same-interest colleagues and boss (although 1 of them is my ex-colleague, you can see her name here and there Helena, =X ). A great group of people to hang out with. Appreciate the same kind of stuff!

Bad Memory

Argh... Why do I always have a bad memory? My boss is kind of unhappy about it right now. Her boss called from the UK but I did not heard the phone in her office was ringing (of which I can intercept if I heard it. What do you expect? The door was closed!). Finally when Agnes, informed me that her boss is looking for her, I went to the training room 1.3 that my colleague mentioned that they would be at. However, when I got there wanting to inform my boss that her boss is looking for her, that room is occupied by other people.

At that moment, I were panicking already. Hence I ran to every floor looking for her, but to no avail. When I was about to call my boss mobile phone, I was told again by Agnes that her boss was not looking for her anymore. Finally when my boss and colleague got back from their meeting, it is "Meeting Room 1.3" that they were in. I think I need to clean up my ear extra clean when I got home. How stupid can I be??? Training Room vs Meeting Room.

Nonetheless, it is a great lesson for me. I never know that they would label the "meeting rooms" in 1st Floor as previously when I was at 3rd Floor, the meeting rooms were not labelled. My heart is still pounding tremendously right now. Grrr... Hate this kind of feeling. Is it my fault? I think it is. At least I should have look into all the meeting rooms too.

What an unfortunate day!!!

Charity Car Wash...

My company is organising a Charity Car Wash Drive for PAWS Animal Welfare Society this Saturday (3 August 2005). If anyone of you is seeing my blog, you can show your support by driving your car there from 10am - 6pm. The best thing about this drive is that the top people in my company will be washing anybody's car. These big shots include my company's Centre Manager, Heads of departments, VPs and AVPs. KUB's (the company that own A&W) CEO will also be there to wash some cars. It's going to be a fun day for family and friends because there will be some games, free root beers, etc, etc...

Ok now, back to my life. I'm moving house soon. I'm moving in together with my buddy, the ever-crazy one, Choo (aka Pikachu, ChooChoo, AhChoo). When we was spending our Merdeka Day countdown at our future neighbour, Adrian's house for a drink, we have already lost our way in our thoughts of how to decorate our house. What to buy? Where to place our sofa and carpet? How many should we invite for our house-warming party? And the list just goes on... Something to look forward to after a day of work.

Title: Do What You Are
Author: Paul D. Tieger & Barbara Barron-Tieger

This is one of the book I read about lately. It was bought by my boss for our entire team to ensure that everyone in her department would read it through. What is it all about? It is about identifying your true self (since you were born, not someone you created on your way to Stardom) and choose the best working environment and job that suit your personality type. It's really interesting as your personality is being described in a 4-letter code (e.g ENTP, ISFP) and when people were told of your code, they will go flip through the book again to see and get to know you better. Friends you know you best enough of you already, will see whether it's true. "This book has been used by some of the great recruitment people in US", as described by my boss. It also enables a boss to know and understand his/her employees better and work out a plan for their development whilst motivating the team by letting them do something they enjoy. If any of you have read this book, please let me know your code by dropping me a comment, I will be glad to be able know you better. =)My code: ESTJ
A great site to read about this book and check out other's the personality type, is one of the official site which is http://www.personalitytype.com/. However though, this site can show you the brief of what you will get in the book, the best parts are all in the book.

Title: The Da Vinci Code
Author: Dan Brown

This is the second book that I read while I was away for my 6 days leave (in total 10 days inclusive of 2 weekends). I notice that a lot of people has already read about this book already. So, I will just cut the crap by not telling what this book tells, but instead what I feel about this book. I think the most interesting thing about this book is the author's ability to twist and turn the story in such exciting ways in TOTAL details. A lot of words and terms I never heard of. But I'm glad that I sit in front of my laptop and open up my dictionary to go through every word that I don't understand because it really explain a lot and could better shape your imagination on the stuff that was described in the novel. I'm glad this is the first novel that I have read. Many who have read this book do not know that they can find some of the illustration described in the novel at this site, http://www.danbrown.com/secrets/davinci_code/louvre.html.

Sleepy Monday

Sleepy Monday? Because of sleeping late last night. Was browsing through some papers that I took back from office of which I suppose to spend my weekends on. I was too cropped up with enjoying my life on the weekends till I have no time to browse them through.

As usual, late to work. Reached bout 10.10am. I could still remember how time critical it was when I was still in the processing floor. Even being 5 mins late, I would get as guilty as hell. I do miss working in a team. I miss my team too. There is no where in near future I can find such strong bond and teamwork. Life will still go on, flowers will wither and time will still pass. Eventually the day will come to see everyone pursuing their own goals. Some will succeed earlier, some may be later. But everyone will find his/her purpose of life.

My Saturday at my boss' house was fantastic. Her apartment was extremely homey and beautiful with simple and slick interior design. We had a great dinner and some great wine. Wanted to go for the Jazz Festival, but we decided to stay at the homey apartment and chill out for a while since we can see that our boss is kind of tired.

Wow! My Sunday was amazing. In less than an hour, I spent RM300+ in KLCC on clothings and other stuff. But it's great though. Step in, look around, try it on, pay and step out. And now, I will have to stock up some instant noodle for next months Credit Card bills already. =P

McD Breakfast!!!

It's Friday. As usual, the most motivating working day. And guess what? Started the day with a McD breakfast. Mouth-watering hashbrown and scrambled egg. Thanks to my colleague, Su Chin who takeaway for us, since she have to bring her daughter there for breakfast. So sweet of her.

I felt kind of lost, not totally. Suddenly can't think of the 2nd step, eventhough I can think of my 4th step of my career. My step 2 and 3 is still missing. Seems like I really need a good rest and time to think during my break on August.

I think all I need to motivate me in my work now is to find my missing steps. But I'm confident that I'm going to find in 1 way or another, it's only about the timing. I guess it's like this in life. Once in a while, you will need to get yourself lost and then slowly and eventually find your way out. This is not only a process of finding a solution, but also a way to understand yourself better in life of your needs, desire and goals.

Seems like my mind is already picturing myself lying by the beach, closing my eyes and let my life pass through in front of me. NOW I'M REALLY LOST!!! I'm in the office, but my mind is at somewhere else. Hahahaha...

Thursday!!!

Today... Erm... Started my day of with emails again. My ex-teamleader pays me a visit at my desk, she was so happy of the position she's applying to in this company. However, her highest hurdle is her current boss, who is bias, racists and ham sap!!! That boss of her is holding her back since she's the best staff he has now of which she will have to clear up whatever mess the other managers have created. She's someone I respect a lot as her leadership is excellent both professionally and personally. Anyhow, knowing her samurai-like spirit, she will not let things go without putting up a good fight. Good luck and all the best to her.

Can't wait for weekends to come. Just want to escape from the ever piling work and take a good rest. Mid of August will be my big break. Yeah!!! Can go home or go somewhere that is peaceful, like... Cherating. I love beaches!!!

Dinner at my boss' apartment this Saturday. Can't wait to see how posh her place is. But also scare that it will be kind of awkward. Anyhow, I am kind of positive on going there as we can clearly see that my boss is trying her level best to blend into our world, of which I think it's something good.

I've been blabbing a lot of nonsense with no direction here... Hehehe... Too much to think of in my work already, hence just thought to click and drop some words here.

Argh... Missed my movie with a friend yesterday night. Apparently she has to help her friend with some stuff. By the way, need not worry. DVD of the movie will be out in the black market in no time. Oh yah, the movie that I want to watch, Fantastic 4. It kind of attracted me when I saw the making of the movie. What a smart way to advertise and market a product. And I am the victim.

Cold-Cloudy Day!!!

What a nice weather today. This makes me thought of the late summer which I spent in Paris, the brightness of the day, the breeze and the coldness (although it was colder).

It's a great day to sleep, nonetheless it's also a great day to get yourself on the chair and look out the windows while you are working. That's what I'm doing right now. By the side of my building, I can see the traffic lights with slow-pace vehicle and sometimes a wide empty street.

In front by me, I can see EDS's building in the classic-europe coloured building (brown). To my left, it's Fujitsu, a square, white and dull-looking colour building.

My boss, is going to be late today. She's not feeling well, hence I'm late too. =P I got to my office at 10.30am. Yes!!! It's the cold morning that is keeping me from awake... What a nice excuse huh!!!

One thing that irritates my morning since yesterday is the email I received from Guangzhou. Grrr... The lady there is simply trying to be smart by making simple stuff so complicated. None of the people in the office can stand her, she just ask too much for nothing. I know it's not ok to think of thing this way, but that's just what she is. IRRITATING!!! STUBBORN!!! TRYING TO BE SMART WHEN SHE IS NOT REQUIRED TO!!!

Anyhow, why bother to let this kind of people ruin my day? Hehehe... Ooopsss... I'd better start my work now.
Oh yah, it's "Pay-Day"!!!!. And it's Mega Sales, muahahaha... means it's time for shopping.

Hey!!! It's my first time after a long long time

Wow!!! I haven't been writing a blog for a long long time. I have decided to spend some of my time in the office to write some of my thoughts and to relax my mind whenever I feel like I needed a unfreeze my brain.

Before this current position, I was not able to access to the internet hence never got the chance to have a suitable time updating my stuff in the net. Now, I'm kind of free to do so. Free doesn't mean I will have the time to do so, but I will have the facilities to do so.

I have seen some of my friends blog in the Friendster. This makes me feel it's kind of nice to let my friends know what I've been up to lately, as and when I am allowed to do so.

My Current Position at Work
Job Title: Jr. Analyst - Customer Experience
Job Description: It's too long to list all of it, so this is part of it
To improve my company's Customer's Experience through the quantitative and qualitative approach.
Company's Name: HSBC Electronic Data Processing (M) Sdn. Bhd.

I have been working in this company for almost 19 months now. I have just move to this new department more than a month ago. I love my current role now. Kind of have more freedom and learn tonnes of skills and experience from my American boss.

Although I have only worked in this department for less than 2 months, it kind of makes me feel that I have been in this position for years. Why? I think the main reason is because for the first 2 weeks of my time in this department, I spend at least 14 hours a day in the office and 6 days a week to come up and to write up a project proposal.

That was the busiest time yet. However, it's kind of fine now (at least for this moment). My boss is a flexible person. Sometimes I would only come in to work at 10.30am or 11.00am (my working hour is 10am-7pm), obviously I'm LATE!!! she will not say much, but of course I do work 8 hours and not head for home at 7pm.

I'm early today though. But my boss has not come in yet, of which would buy me some time to write in this blog. Today is a fairly fine day. Cloudy day!

But the first mail I received this morning, grrr... those people in Guangzhou just don't take the time to read. Told them not to merge the cells in Ms Excel, but they still did. This means extra work for me again. This is a typical scenario you face when you have a project that involve 10 people from 10 different places and your meeting is always rely on the confra call.

Still, I know my day will go well...
