Unfair

adjective not based on or showing fairness; unjust.

Kinda frustrated due this word. Don't know what to write or say about it. All I can say is..... LOYALTY... bullshit. No such a thing exist in this world especially in the corporate world. Fark loyalty... people can tell you how loyal you are and how much you will shine amongst the senior management. Yah... probably shining like a firefly isn't enough.

So, the next good (and I don't mean great) job comes along I will be out of the door. Sayonara...

Internet Freedom in Malaysia

I'm not a political person, but time after time the Malaysian government has been trying to wrap us up within the ignorance bubble and this time I really feel like sharing this with everyone to show the government that they work for the citizen and not themselves.

It has been reported in MalaysiaKini that the oh-so-famous MalaysiaToday has been blocked by all major Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Malaysia with Streamyx taking the front line being the first to do so. Hence all internet user who subscribe to Streamyx will not be able to access the MalaysiaToday website at www.malaysia-today.net at this moment.

However as expected of Raja Petra, there's always a workaround and that is a mirror link at http://mt.harapanmalaysia.com/2008/.

Let's not allow the government to take away our freedom of speech and information, so spread the words of MalaysiaToday's alternate url at http://mt.harapanmalaysia.com/2008/.

New Item for my Wishlist

Canon just announce the launch of a new Digital SLR for semi-pro/prosumer range. I just start to drool when I read about the functionality of this camera. So, here's how it looks like. And you can read more bout the specification here and functionality in here.

Yes, am still in Malaysia

As mentioned earlier, I am suppose to leave for London for an assignment. But guess what? Taaaa... daaaa.... I'm still in Malaysia! Yes that sucks. The departure date has been a big question mark even until now, 3 months since. A lot of false hope, a lot of frustration along the way and I still don't know when I will be departing for London.

It's been like an emotional roller-coaster ride. Estatic... Happy... Excited... Worried... Relieve... Excited... Frustrated... Disappointed... and now, Leave it to God.

Since the initial news was broken, I was told that I will need to be there asap, which is within a month time. Then comes the bombshell saying that in order to work there for 4 months, I will require a work permit which takes 20 working days for application. After 20 working days, it is said that it actually require 5-7 weeks for the application. Then in the midst of all that, some arguement in the contract about my allowances. And now, even with all the chasing and constant email, I still don't know the status of my contract and work permit.

So, I'm sure everyone can feel my frustration. I must say, "I'm Sorry Sweetie!". She has been hanging around jobless waiting for our departure and I'm deeply sorry for her constant feeling of frustration and lost.

Anyhow, I can only hope for the best right now.

Death Race (2008)

My Rating: 7/10

This is a remake of the 1975 Death Race 2000. I must say, this is a good movie and worthwhile to go to the cinema for. It absolute got the video game feel. Jason Statham play the lead role of Jensen Ames and racer nicknamed the "Frankenstein" while the gorgeous Natalie Martinez play the supporting actress role, Case as a car race nagivator. I haven't watch the 1975 version of Death Race 2000 starred by Sylvester Stallone, so I can't compare them. The reason that I didn't give a higher rating is due to the simple reason that I am not a fan of action movies.

All right for now, I'm not gonna do some full review here. After all, it's my style just to say whether this is a watchable movie or not. Hehehe...

Wall-E

My Rating: 6/10

As expected out of the matrimony of Pixar and Disney, Wall-E is true to the culture of happily-ever-after of Disney and the hilarious smooth touch of Pixar. So this is a must watch movie.

It's really unexpected that for a total squarish robot there's still the... awwww.... moment. So, bring your kids or your love one for this movie at the theater.

Don't Buy Braun Oral-B Electronic Toothbrush in Malaysia

I bought a Braun Oral-B 8500 DLX more than a year ago. I must say it's a wonderful e-toothbrush. It cost RM250 when I bought it. The thing is the handle of the toothbrush is assembled so tightly that it does not require direct contact with any electric outlet. It is charged thru some electromagnetic wave or something, which means its battery is not easily exposed to water while I wash the handle.

But the problem is, after more than 1 year of using it, the handle's battery worn out and the charger kinda goes ku-ku. I can barely use for 2 or 3 days per 24hrs charge. So I call up the company that is in-charge of this in Malaysia, Quality Exact Sdn. Bhd. Not to mention finding their extremely hard to find location in Kepong.

Then they told me, their so-called service centre doesn't provide servicing for the Oral-B 8500 DLX unit. What their "technician" do is, ask you to change which ever unit that has problem instead of fixing them. Even if the battery is the problem, they don't import the battery. So, to change the handle it is RM115 and the charger is RM95. I might as well buy a new 1, but knowing this kinda service is provided, I better not buy anymore Braun Oral-B electronic tootbrush anymore. It's an investment considered paying RM250 for a toothbrush. So, I would probably just revert back to old conventional toothbrush for now.

So, if you are thinking of buying a electronic toothbrush from Braun Oral-B... better think carefully. At least until they improve their "service centre" in Malaysia.

Disappointed...

The M'sia Mega Sales Reminds Me of a Friend

The Malaysia Mega Sales is back in town. Before I went for my movie tonight, I managed to sneak into Zara for a quick look and end up spending quite a bit of money.

While I was shopping inside, a sudden memory hits me. Last year about the same time, same Sales and same shop I was shopping with a friend of mine. I've lost touch of this friend. Not too sure why. But it's really sad how much has changed compared to just a year ago. Really do miss the time spent at the Curve on Friday nights eating some heavy food and proceed to have the oh-so delicious Sweet Potato Macchiato at Holly's Coffee in Cineleisure. Then before 12am, we turn back to the same restaurant that we had dinner in to have a few pints of Paulaner.

Those were the days. Now I don't have a friend who can do that with me anymore, in terms of enjoying the same kinda stuff. Good friends are hard to get, not to mention great friends. Hey M, I hope you are doing well down-under. I'm sure you will. Take care aite. Miss ya friend.

Wanted

My Rating: 6/10

Action packed movie. Love the matrix-style framing and action. Not a bad movie, but if you are tight on budget, I would say you probably better off to go and get a DVD instead of watch it in the cinema.

Made of Honour

My rating: 7/10

Made of Honour, I first thought that this is a chick-flick but to my surprise, it's better than any normal chick-flick. It is hilarious. Starring by Patrick Dempsey and Michelle Monaghan. This is a good movie to catch to cheer up your day. Absolutely a must watch for some happily-ever-after scene and giggling.

Dempsey is stunning and Monaghan is gorgeous in this movie.

CAUTION: tgv.com.my contain virus?

Becareful with TGV Cinema's website (http://www.tgv.com.my/). IT MIGHT CONTAIN A TROJAN VIRUS!!! This is the screenshot that I took of what happen. As I was trying to access the Movies -> Now Showing webpage thru the interactive hand of the beautiful lady, I've got infinite number of prompt of "Access has been prevented as the requested web page or facility is suspected to contain virus, Toj.Dwnldr.HED".

This is probably the security prompt by my company's firewall, I'm not too sure if other system will get this prompt. Anyhow, friends out there, just make sure you have your firewall or virus protection switched on when you go to the webpage.

Some updates

Work
I was first told that my short-term assignment was suppose to start somewhere end of June. That is why I was frantically settling things at home and personally. Also preparing and making sure I don't forget to buy any important stuff that I need to bring to the UK. No no no!!! Not things like sambal belacan! Then after all the hoo-haa in the contracts and visas, it's finally decided they need to apply a work permit for me to work in London. So, it's another 6-8 weeks from now on. Anyway, though some stresses in life, at least I think I got some stuff settled.

MYself
Hasn't been doing much fun stuff lately. Hands have been quite itchy since I've been neglecting my Canon EOS 350D for more than 2 weeks now. I should probably plan an early morning this week to catch some morning sunlight. Watched Kung Fu Panda, but was too lazy to put up a review on the movie. Hehehe... Has been playing a lot of Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core lately, made myself a little bit of couch potato all weekend long on my PSP.

Alright, till I've got more and feel like writing... that's all for now folks.

The Beginning of a Journey

As mentioned in my entry titled butterflies in my stomach, I have had an interview 2 weeks ago. I have got an answer back from the interviewer.

The answer I've got is a "YESSSS". I've got the job. Which means I'm going to London for a short-term assignment for about 4 months. When will it start? I don't know, it's probably less than a month time and I will have to leave for London. So, until I talk to them about the details, this is all I know for now.

This is probably the beginning of a new chapter in my life. Let's see.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

My Rating: 8/10Unbelievably adventurous, hilarious and thrilling. It is a must-watch movie. At the age of 65, Harrison Ford was still able to bring out the old-school touch of Indiana Jones. This sequel has a surprise, Indiana Jones actually had a teenage son played by Shia-LaBeouf (who starred in Transformer). If I were to put my money on it, the next sequel will be led by LaBeouf.
Something different about this sequel is that it actually revolve around the paranormal life. It's a little surprising, but not disappointing. I'm not going to spoil the plot, if you want to know more go and read about the plot here.
